Jumpin' Jim has been a pro BBQ cook since the mid 1990s. He may be best known for winning the Chicken Category both days (Invitational and Open) one year at the American Royal, and for posting his winning chicken recipe and process on the internet. The highlight of his career was when he finished as the Runner Up for the KCBS Cook of The Year because that finish reflected the effort for an entire year, as compared to success for an individual contest.

Jumpin' Jim has been the design force behind many BBQ rigs and concession trailers. The first rig he designed and had built for himself, The Cube, eventually led to other successful designs such as The Weekender, POD, Qualifier, various goosenecks and fifth wheel trailers, and the very popular 24 ft. concession trailer.
